Home Improvements

A bonus of James working at Oakridge Student Apartments is that we can utilize the jacuzzi.

Skiing/snowboarding the "Beav"

James is so handy! There was a piece of furniture that I found at Downeast Outfitters and he took an old piece of furniture and sanded down the drawers and glued new ones on to match the one that I found. All of the furniture will have the same notches. I know, it's hard to see since the room is poorly lite, but oh man, I love the contemporary look!

I love Ikea! This was my problem solving technique to battle the lack of room to hang multiple towels without the bathroom looking cluttered. And, the rods move!
The bathroom has a bad floor plan with doors on both sides of those rods.

James built this in the closet

The combination of the above and below photo make up the "real" master bedroom = guest/office room. The floor plan in this room wasn't done well either.

We sleep in the second bedroom.

I don't know what the official name of this room is, but I will just call it the entertainment room.

The dining area. We received the table for free! Thanks Christy! I hated the old one which had captain seats and it was very outdated. This one has a country home look, but anything is better than what we had before.

Downstairs bathroom

We were going to originally buy the townhouse, but with a stipulation on the tax credit it wasn't going to work out. There was a lot of added changes we were going to make, but we will reserve that for something else. I love this place and I will be sad when it finally does sell.

Fall into...

Laurie just happens to be "in" with RC Willey's finest. They are sitting on the other side of her. We scored second row tickets to the USU vs UofU basketball game. It was a really good game.

I like my aggie spirit in the mist of all the red.

Since my days as a freshman, I have always loved Big Blue. Now as a alumni, I rocked a picture with him.

I don't wear ugly things. Welcome to the sea of ugliness at the ugly sweater party.

Birthday Weekend!

Happy birthday to me! I celebrated in Provo at the Macaroni Grill with my parents and some "home-ward" friends from California.

I also cut my hair shorter. When I saw my mom for the first time it really sunk in that I look even more like her with short-brown-hair.

And it still lives on....Those two fine looking kids happen to be my cousins. If you ever happen to venture into the Brick Oven in Provo you'll see it.

Our Adventures...

We drove down to Frank's(Francis) High School football game. This is probably the only time I saw James the entire football game, because he was on the sidelines taking pictures.

Laurie is the #1 aunt in my book. She goes to every activity that relates to her family.

I visited Moab and was paid to do it! One of the many perks of my job is the sight-seeing. I feel more like my parents because I willingly go in these trips. I will drive and walk for hours to view the beauty of this planet -- and take care of four teenage girls while doing it.

Can you tell I went to Moab? I'm standing next to my group but for confidentiality reasons they cannot be shown.

Score!

James and Laurie at the USU Homecoming Game. We actually won! James's clip-on sunglasses remind me of my dad.

We were driving down to SLC to use our free Jazz tickets and to eat some sushi with Lexi and Camryn. I keep telling myself that I can deal with Logan and how cold it becomes here.

Yes, we are at the top of the world!

James is like his dad, he always seems to know someone wherever he goes. Exhibit A: Laurie's co-worker and husband.

In other news...

This is the best invention ever! I don't get teary-eyed when I'm cutting onions and I don't feel threatened when I'm chopping carrots. If you are a pro at cooking or are thinking of starting, this is a must have!

So, originally James and I went to the Bees game for Pioneer Day(Utah holiday) but the opposing team came down with something as threatening as the swine flu so we watched two summer leagues play. To compensate, we received voucher tickets for any remaining Bees game, pre-season Jazz tickets, and tickets to some random sports bar. Here we are at our free game.

Our friends Cody and Chalet came with us since each original ticket was worth two voucher tickets. The bee was giving the drunk people above us a lot of attention and apparently was giving Cody some as well.

I'll take any chance I can get to leave Logan and visit the Salt Lake area. Here we are at Red Robin celebrating Becky's birthday. I guess you can also say that this is my unveiling picture showing that I cut and colored my hair.

DEMOLITION DERBY BABY! James has been quite persistent on taking me to a demolition derby. It was actually fun and I would do it again. I don't know if I'll miss all the "white trash" people.
