What do you get when you marry a thrift shopper? Apparently, you find great things. Yesterday, USU was holding a bid sale. I didn't even know USU had sales, but when you marry someone who's all about a "good deal", you learn fast. Behold, a banker's desk. It is made out of all wood, completely works, and was $10!
Another great thing about this desk is the lock mechanism.
For those of you out there who don't know much about USU history, let me educate you. The school was formed in 1888, originally known as Utah State Agricultural College. By 1957, the school was changed to Utah State University. Somewhere between 1888 and 1957, this desk was manufactured. 
Buried treasure? Nope, but it's still cool to find things such as an old receipt from 1949 for a Reader's Digest subscription for $1.65Now, the big question? What are we going to do with it? You can't be serious about wanting to take it to Pittsburgh?!
Do you not know my husband? Yes, we are taking it with us. Somehow we will find room in what small "affordable" place we find. I'm excited to see the work in progress. What color should it be? Paint or stain? We will see!
