Super Bowl Weekend

I've been told numerous times that you can make your own t-shirt designs using freezer paper and James being the crafty one in the marriage...made this. And, I must say, James continues to find treasures at the DI. This shirt only cost $4 and it still had the tags on it.

My nephew Gerik is....you can guess. Back in the day he fell in love with the packers because their helmets have a big "G" on them. Good thing they won.

Just practicing with the camera.

Too bad we aren't in "Steeler Nation".

Jeremy was in the army and is a helicopter pilot. Kinta is from Australia. All in all, James had plenty to talk about with these folks. They moved to Australia since the economy is booming there with jobs. I miss them a lot! I'm sure someday down the road we will go visit.

In other news: Never apply to grad school. A lot of people thought it was stupid to apply to so many, but its been a great learning experience. Case in point:

1: SFSU can't write a proper email nor give accurate information when things are due.
2: UofU lost my application, then found it, told me I would hear back from them oh about now, but than got an email saying I won't get a response until April.
3: It's very hard when you have other people involved. Letters of recommendations are useful, but they are the whole reason why I won't get accepted into two schools. They have the possibility of not getting turned in on time or getting lost in translation.
4: Never get married after you graduate from college(this coming from a Mormon). The schools will put your transcripts under your maiden name and then they'll claim they don't have them.
5: The school may raise their tuition fees even more(EIGHT GRAND MORE)!
6: Be grateful that at least one school had there act together and didn't do any of this.

I still have to interview with UPenn and after that I will let you all know where I'm going. Did you know that UPenn is an Ivy League school?! I had no clue until after I submitted my application. I've got some balls for applying(excuse my crudeness).

In great news: I got a merit scholarship to Pitt! "I am so smart, S-M-R-T" - it's recited a lot in my household even though James and I don't like the Simpson's tv show.

Ski the Beav

Whose that perv? It's surprising that the phrase "ski the beav" exists in Utah considering that there is the "mind in the gutter" concept, but than where else can you find breast cancer awareness stickers that mention the statement above. James loves to implement his ideas and I let him.

Just practicing with my new camera.

Jon is awesome! He has great connections at Al's Sporting Goods. Free ski rentals and pass.

Test Subject

My poor curtains! Sorry Mom!

She is kinda scary when she's focused on something. To bad this was with the red-eye reduction.

Showin' the "goods" off. She pretends to look cute and innocent, but it's all a trap. She hidin' her claws and wants to play with your hands.

X-Mas all over again!

I stole a couple pictures from my sister's blog. Thanks Shannon! How stinkin' adorable!

It was all Kate's idea.

Christmas day at my parents

First: I love you mom! Second: I miss her fabulous piano/organ skills!

My hair straightner broke while in Santa Barbara. This came in the mail on Tuesday!

And...this came in the mail Wednesday right before picking James up from class. I even waited until I got back to the apartment to open it! I originally bought the kit from Sam's club but after waiting in line to find out they were sold out, I found a better deal online. Gotta love the World Wide Web!

With the extra money I saved I bought this camera bag and the one below. A unisex messenger bag and a Parisian vintage purse. About a half hour later I got another knock on the door with these items.

Somewhere for the Holidays

This is going to be our last winter in Logan and might I say how it's going out with a bang. This was the temperature Thanksgiving morning while driving to Tremonton (now remember to pronounce it "Tre-mon-on" - it's the Utahan way)

I had to work Thanksgiving evening so we celebrated Saturday with all of James's family. We reserved the cultural hall in David and Becky's church. Laurie did a great job on the decorations.

James's family is really into games. Here is James trying to get an Oreo into his mouth without using his hands.

It was documented that I was forced to do this game as well, but where that picture went no one knows, lol. Worms in pudding and no hands - you get the point.

Our quasi-child is still curious. James gets tempted every time to close and run the dishwasher.

I dislike the "ring shot" but it was the better looking picture. James's work had a party at one of Snowbird's resorts.

The remains of the Provo Tabernacle.

Sadly, I don't have any pictures of Christmas Eve or day, but I do have pictures from Santa Barbara. I have this odd fascination of taking picture of birds when I'm near or on an ocean.

If you've ever been on a vacation with my parents than you know you're not sitting around relaxing. My dad took us to see the city hall and this picture was taken on top of the tower. It makes me miss the landscape, culture, and blue skies of California.

I miss these mountains(hills).

If you were a fourth grader in California than you learned about the Missions. This happens to be Santa Barbara's Mission.

Where's the kitty? We have a king size bed and where does she always insist on laying? On the clean clothes.

Spooky Birthday

Happy Halloween! Cyndi and Pat had their annual Hein Halloween Party. This year it was on the night of my birthday.

Laurie and James -- James loved this costume!

Brandt and Tanalie

How would you feel if a room full of strangers was singing happy birthday to you? I was the party pooper that didn't dress up.

James and Katie -- show no fear.

Time for USU football!

Words can't describe the persona that James is portraying in this picture. It screams "hick". Please admire the hat though. James found it at the DI, unstitched the previous logo, and painted the "A" on it. Go Aggies!

I swear he likes me more than just a shopping partner.

Long story here: Christy and James were friends at Oakridge. Apparently they hooked up once. She worked at Uinta Academy with me, and now we all hang out. Don't worry, she is married and has a kid on the way.

This made history! USU beat BYU! Suckers!

James was still giddy a couple of days later.

In other news, the townhouse is underway to be sold. It was suppose to sell back in August, but silly taxes weren't filed correctly. It should sell anytime this month. James and I moved into the apartment complex he works at. It's very nice to have discounted rent and to see him more often. James is in his last year of school, thank goodness! And, I'm in the process of applying to grad school. I'm very nervous about this! What if I don't even get into my backup schools?! Stay tuned!
